Privacy Policy

Last updated · 27 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Reedu (“Reedu”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you use the platform. Reedu is operated from South Africa and processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”).

This policy is about privacy, not legal advice. Reedu is a software tool for issuing, tracking and recording professional work; nothing in the platform is legal advice. This page describes our data practices only.

1. Information we collect

a. Account information

When you’re invited and create an account, we collect your name, email address and the organisation or firm you belong to, along with your role and permissions within it.

b. Project & workflow information

To run the Service we store what you put through it: your projects and the tenders, drawings, appointments, instructions, variations, site logs and inspection records you create, the documents you upload, the people you issue them to, and the receipts, signatures and responses that come back — including the append-only log that gives your registers their evidentiary value. This information belongs to you; we process it to provide the Service.

c. Communications

If you contact us or request a demo, we keep your message and contact details so we can respond and follow up.

d. Technical information

Like most platforms, we collect limited technical data — such as log and device information and basic usage — to keep Reedu secure, reliable and working correctly.

2. How we use your information

  • To operate the platform: issue and track work, build registers, collect signatures and send reminders.
  • To send transactional email (sign-in links, issues, invitations and reminders) via our email provider.
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse and maintain the integrity of the event log.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Reedu (such as our hosting, database and email providers), with other authorised members of your organisation as the platform’s roles allow, and where required by law.

4. Where it’s stored

Your data is hosted with reputable cloud providers and may be processed outside South Africa. Where it is, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with POPIA.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Because the record is append-only and serves as evidence of what was issued and received, entries are retained for the life of the project and any period required for legal or audit purposes.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to access, correct, object to the processing of, and request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls and an append-only, tamper-evident record. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the date above and, where the changes are material, take reasonable steps to let you know.

9. Contact

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, email hello@reedu.co.za.
